About

At the age of 22, with two LPs and two EPs already released, songs appearing on various compilations and remixes for high profile labels such as Erased Tapes, Catskills and Peacefrog, the Brighton based producer Guy Andrews (aka iambic) is already making his mark in the electronic music scene.

iambic is an act based loosely around the ambient genre but taking influence from jazz and post-rock. The sonic texture iambic creates in his tunes comes from the vast layers of electro-acoustic sounds that help build deep yet uplifting melodies that capture and absorb the listener from the start to the end of each track.

The success of the first album ‘Under These Stars, We’ll Sleep Again’, which was released on the Austrian based label ‘Laridae Records’ at the start of 2007 and has so far gained over 45,000 downloads has contributed to a promising music career for iambic. The much anticipated follow up ‘As The Snow Fell’ released in February 2008 also proved to be one of the most successful net label releases of 2008. Iambic has received a large amount of interest from both promoters and other labels both in the UK and abroad. Most recently, iambic has been remixing artists such as Codes In The Clouds and Husky Rescue to much critical acclaim.

In 2008 iambic took to the road and started a live act, which now consists of a three piece electro-acoustic outfit that puts a whole new edge on performing electronic music live. Realising that the iambic sound is a primarily electronic one, Guy decided to create a live act that fuses live saxophones, drums, vocals, keys with electronic sample triggering, live sound manipulation and sampling which has proven to be a large success both with electronic and traditional live band oriented promoters. Previous gigs include festivals such as Glade, Net Audio Festival Berlin, Beachdown and Sunrise, venues such as Cafe1001 and The Colosseum in London and also many live venues throughout Europe.
